“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.  And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.”  {Joel 2:28-29}

“Where there is no vision, the people perish … “ {Proverbs 29:18}.  The issue before us is that many among our Confederate numbers have once more begun to dream and envision victory according to the teachings of the Holy Scriptures.  Whether you perceive these dreams and vision to be prophetic or merely wishful thinking is for you to decide within yourself, which is an unalienable right granted according to the divine providence of Almighty God.

While we recognize that not every dream is God given, we also know that God does speak to his those who fear God, through dreams and visions.  Dreams are commonly used to warning and to reveal things yet to come, as well as to give warning of future events!  At times God will give a dream so as to reveal the plans of an enemy, and then lead one to intercede in behalf of that situation.   People often mistaken all of the dreams they have had as being strictly carnal in origin, and some dreams are somewhat disturbing.  We oftentimes awaken startled after a frightening dream with a sense of danger; it could be that this kind of dream is given to give warning or to reveal the plans of the adversary.

A very powerful dream, which effects our salvation is described in Matthew 2:12-13 where the three wise men were “… warned by God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they returned to their own country another way.  And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise and take the young child and his mother and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.”  Dreams and Visions are not always merely someone’s imagination gone wild, often times it is God speaking to man.
